It may have been cold outside, but E&Y Toastmasters was on fire this August!
If a warm blanket, a cup of hot tea, and Netflix kept you from coming to our August meetings, here’s what you missed.
On 7th August, the star of the evening was Emily Nhachi who not only completed her CC10 speech but also served as Toastmaster. She was joined by Ifeoma who also concluded her CC10 manual with the speech “Change is Afoot.” Congratulations, Ify and Ems!
Two more CC completions ticked off our list on the road to becoming a President’s Distinguished Club.
Gina won Best Speaker, leaving us in stitches with her speech “Trying to Diet.” Bongani delivered a thoughtful, insightful evaluation of Emily’s speech winning Best Evaluator. Visitor Latifa showed up the members by taking the crown for Best Table Topics.
On 23rd August, President Yanga kicked the meeting off with an educational speech on running the race to becoming a President’s Distinguished Club. The coveted status is awarded to clubs whose members complete a list of accomplishments before 30th June, 2019.
Rutendo won Best Speaker with “Just Do It – Later,” Yanga won Best Evaluator for Jennifer’s “Just Say No” speech, and once again visitor Zainab Khan showed the members how to win Best Table Topics.
