The contest was really entertaining and appropriately intense. All the contestants gave their best.
In the International Speech contest, Liezl had us all hooked with her speech entitled Happily Ever After. She brought all of us back to earth regarding our unrealistic expectations of love and reminded us that there is more to love than the butterflies in our stomachs in the beginning of the relationship. She clearly knew what she was talking about because she is celebrating her 4 year wedding anniversary on the second of April.
Rutendo came in and reminded us of about all the resolutions that we like to make in the beginning of the year. She convinced us that we do not have to wait for once a year to be enthusiastic and make resolutions and we can take each day as a new beginning and we should celebrate each new day as much as we celebrate a new year. Her speech was entitled Happy New Me and she won the competition.
In the Evaluations contest Cynthia and Liezl went head to head when evaluating a Speech by Glennita Ford entitled Pondering Languages. With only 5 minutes to prepare the evaluations the ladies came in and showed out, they were both confident and gave detailed, well thought out evaluations. Cynthia won the Evaluators competition.
Table topics were equally as amazing the topic for our three contestants Cyntha, Yumna and Athenkosi was We are the Champions and indeed they are the champions. Cynthia won the table topics competition.
