Our first meeting of the year was themed “O is for Opportunity” to remind us that each day is a new to wake up and do best then yesterday. “O stands for Opportunity which is absent in ‘yesterday,’ appears once in ‘today’ and thrice in ‘tomorrow.'” This quote best proves that there is always another chance to try again & not see a problem in times of difficulty but see it as opportunity.
Our toastmaster of the evening, Yanga Gceya, gave such words to help us start 2018 with a focused mind that will make the most from each day.
The word of the day was “chutzpah” which means “extreme self-confidence or audacity (usually used approvingly)” and boy oh boy did our speakers have chutzpah!
Cynthia Kanyenze‘s “The Aha Moment” was voted the best speech, she walked away with Best Speaker of the evening.
Meekness Lunga took home Best TableTopics Speaker accolade.
Durgaprasad Iyer won the Best Evaluator award.
Ernst & Young Toastmasters wishes you a year filled with great speeches, a spirit to make the most of every opportunity you are presented.
