What Time Is It? It’s ME O’ Clock!
Toastmasters 6th August Recap
What time is it? It’s ME O’ CLOCK!
What an EXCEPTIONAL Toastmasters event that took place on the 6th of August.
We had awe inspiring speakers, wonderful people visiting us as guests and from other clubs, and speeches that were truly exquisite.
The theme of the evening that was chosen by our wonderful Toastmaster of the evening Fuma Blom was “ME-eeting.” This theme was reflected in all of the exquisite speeches that we had the honour of listening to.
The word of the evening was “Mensch” which means- a person of integrity and honour. A powerful word indeed.
We were honoured to have had three amazing speakers:
1. Odwa Ndesi: Odwa did a captivating speech on “Fatherhood.”
2. Gerd-Jan Ukena who did a fantastic speech on “The battle between two wolves.”
3. Nashad Soeker who did an enticing speech on “U & I.”
The “Best Speaker” award went to Nashad Soeker
The “Best Evaluator” award went to Rutendo Nyamuda
The “Best Table Topics” award went to Sipho Luther
We were also privileged to have a wonderful Area Director by the name of Asad Patel who enlightened us with great tips on what’s been happening around in the Toastmasters community and shared with us wonderful ways in which we could enhance our EY club.
We also had Sibusiso who is President of the Vodacom Toastmasters club attempt to steal our flag (part of a funny thing/activity that we do at Toastmasters).
And we had Nosipho from Cima Gauteng Toastmasters come to visit us.
A meeting to never be forgotten!
